For Hannah’s science project we decided to figure out which surfaces in our house contained the most bacteria.  With Uncle Ben’s help, we procured some sterile swabs and petri dishes.  Hannah then wiped each surface with the swabs, transferred the bacteria to a petri dish, and then waited to see what would grow. 

It became obvious early on that the dirtiest place was our kitchen sink.

The keyboard was second:

Interestingly, the toilet and bathroom doorknob were among the cleanest:

The cell phone and remote control also had some nastiness:

It was a lot of fun working with Hannah on this project.  Also, thanks again to Uncle Ben for the supplies and guidance.
