Last summer, Melissa and I took Hannah to NYC for a week of tourism and Broadway plays. During that time, we fell in love with Broadway musicals. I watched a few classics in London in high school and credit Les Miserables for my spiritual awakening, but it had been a long time since I experienced high quality production. Shortly after we returned from NYC, I learned about the brand new and soon to be opened Eccles Theater in downtown SLC. I couldn’t resist and purchases season tickets. Some of the productions have been okay (Beautiful, The Carol King Story) while others were great (Kinky Boots). Today, we watched our last show, Matilda, which we happened to watch with Hannah on  Broadway. However, we were lucky to be able to take Maxwell, Norah, Truman, and Lara. Hannah was at a dance performance. Everybody enjoyed the show, although Truman is a little young for musicals. We grabbed a nice dinner downtown and then headed over to Maxwell’s jazz performance. While we have tickets to two more Broadway shows this year, this was our last since we will be out of town. Regardless, it has been fun and we will certainly renew our tickets since next year’s season includes Hamilton!

For the second year in a row, Maxwell participated in a Jazz concert in SLC. Maxwell does great and the show is fantastic. Proud of this kid.
